Hospital Wish List

An Opportunity to Help Those Who Need It the Most!

For most of us, it is hard to imagine a hospital that doesn't have enough (or any) soap, toilet paper, food or medicine.
Unfortunately, this is daily reality for the children of Dr. Mario Catarino Rivas Hospital.  If you would like to help these children, you will be helping some of the most deserving of people: sick and malnourished children who come from  absolute poverty.
Honduras is one of the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere and it lacks sufficient resources to keep it's public hospitals stocked with essential items. If you or your company would like to donate a piece of medical equipment, a plaque of gratitude can be place on the piece of equipment. Donations can also be made in memory of a loved one. To make a donation, please go to our donation page.
Also, please email me to let me know how you want your money to be used.

Children of the hospital

Hospital Wish List:
In October 2010 Mario Catarino Rivas Hospital Noroccidental was treating 836 children a month with cancer, mostly leukemias and brain cancers. At that point in time, there was a foundation of cancer in Honduras that was buying the chemotherapy for the kids; in October 2011 this foundation went bankrupt and the hospital lost the capability to buy chemo for the kids. As of March 2011, the number of cancer cases in children who are being treated by this hospital had rose to approximately 2,000 children a month. The doctors and nurses are projecting that there may be as many as 3,000 to 4,000 children by the end of the year that need chemo to survive. It cost $1,009 per year to buy chemo for one child. If you would like to donate money for the purchase of chemo, we can send you a picture of the child you are sponsoring and give you an update on their health. If this is anything you are interested in participating in, please contact Shawn Plowman at sgbbinsd@aol.com
